Game Procedures and Rules
A. Games shall be played by FIFA Rules, as modified by USYSA, Cal South, and the tournament.
All decisions, judgments and rulings of the tournament referees and officials are final.
NOPROTESTS WILL BE ENTERTAINED OR ALLOWED.
Only a registered team official/coach may represent a team during any official proceeding.
B. All teams will be scheduled for a minimum of 3 games. Check your team's schedule and the list of fields and maps. It is possible you may be playing on more than one venue. USYSA player passes will be required of all teams for spot inspection in case of challenge.
C. All games will be considered final and no protests will be allowed.
D. Duration of games & overtimes, by halves, and ball size are as follows:

All tournament pool and semi-final games will have 5 minute half-times.
Please help officials with the request.
Championship game times may be modified to accomodate the number of games needed to be scheduled at UCLA fields on the day of all finals.
F. Half time: Half times will be exactly five (5) minutes.
G. Preliminary games and those divisions utilizing a round-robin format will be scored using the following Ten Point System:
-Six (6) points for a win; three (3) points for a tie; zero (0) points for a loss.
-One (1) bonus point will be awarded for each goal scored up to a maximum of three (3)
points, regardless whether the scoring team wins, loses or ties.
-One (1) bonus point will be added for a shutout, excluding0-0 ties.
-Should anyteam fail to field the minimum number of playersfor a match during preliminary game play; then ALLpreliminary games played by that team will be considered 1-0 forfeits and all opposing teams will thus be awarded eight (8) points.
-One (1) point will be deducted for each player red card received.
-Two (2) points will be deducted for each coach/administrator red card received.
H. Game time is forfeit time. The team, which "wins by forfeit", shall be deemed to have won by a score of 1-0 and will receive 8 points. If at the discretion of the tournament committee a forfeit provides an unfair advantage, the tournament committee may make a bracket determination by another means so as to determine bracket placement fairly. There is no financial consideration for a forfeited game.
I. A five (5) minute grace period is allowed for the scheduled starting time of the game. In the event both teams are more than five (5) minutes late for the game, both teams will be deemed to have forfeited the game. Seven (7) players constitute a team ready to play. (Five (5) players for U9B- U9).
J. WILD CARD SELECTION
For brackets with wild cards, wild cards will be selected from the second place teams who have accumulated the most points. Ties on points will be broken in accordance with the rules listed below. If WC comes from bracket A, then Winner A will play Winner C, and Winner B will play WC.
K. Tie Breakers: In the event there is a tie in points after the completion of preliminary games or round robin play, the following methods will be used to break the tie in the order listed below:
If more than two (2) teams are tied at the end of the preliminary round, the tiebreaker criteria listed shall be used in the order shown until one team is advanced or one team is eliminated, or both. If remaining teams are still tied at this point in the tie-breaking process, they will then be compared beginning again with
step 1 until another team is either advanced or eliminated or both.

D. Most goals scored (max. 3 per game)
E. FIFA penalty kicks (1 hour before the next game)
L. SEMI-FINAL GAMES
All semi-final games ending in a tie go directly to FIFA penalty kicks.
M. CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES
All final games ending in a tie go directly to FIFA penalty kicks.
N. Game Check-In Conduct: At least 45 minutes prior to the start of the game, each team must present to the Field Marshal the team’s player cards so that the team may be checked in to play and the game started as scheduled.
O. Players’ Equipment: It will be within the game Referee’s discretion to determine the safety and suitability of player equipment including the wearing of a hard brace.
P. Home Team: The HOME team is listed first on the schedule, provides game ball, and shall have initial kick off .The home team shall occupy the North or West side of the field. The home team will change uniforms in case of a color conflict, as determined by the center referee.
Q. Discipline: Any player or coach who is sent off (red card or ejection) will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled match, and may be suspended for the remainder of the tournament by the tournament officials. Red cards issued for fighting will be grounds for expulsion from the remainder of the tournament and will be reported to the appropriate State Soccer Association. The player ID cards will be pulled for all red cards issued for violent conduct or referee abuse and submitted to Cal South (tournament sanctioning organization).
One (1) point will be deducted form the total points for a player Red Card.
Two (2) points will be deducted from the total points for any administrator Red Card.
